At only 12 years of age, he decided to leave Togo in search of a new life after his father’s death. Although his path was full of obstacles, Haruna never gave up hope. His journey to Spain lasted more than four years, and he faced countless challenges and dangers, especially in the desert, where the mafias threatened his journey.<\/p>\n

When he finally arrived in Spain, he landed in the Canary Islands and, after 45 days, was transferred to Valencia. He arrived at age 16, and today, at 37, Haruna feels deeply grateful for Xabec, the vocational training center that became his refuge and family. “There I found a family, Xabec is love,” he says fondly.<\/p>\n

Haruna knows that being an orphan drives many to emigrate. Therefore, from very first, he had an obvious goal: to prevent other children from going through what he experienced by building schools for orphans. He highlights projects that were only possible with the help of people like Luis Valls and his foundations.<\/p>\n

His first school is already a reality, providing education and daily meals to dozens of young children.
