“It’s beautiful to see that the project is progressing and people are receiving that help”

María José Baños’s arrival in India redefined her path. Faced with the harsh reality of extreme poverty, she understood that much needed to be done to make a real difference.

In her mission, María José was not alone. She had the support of foundations that shared her vision. This collaboration allowed her to design transformative projects and coordinate the necessary teams to implement them. Her approach was not merely idealistic but based on creating practical and realistic solutions.

For instance, in the Mumbai and Sri Lanka projects, María José was in constant contact with the foundations. This collaboration allowed her to adjust actions and address emerging needs. The guidance of experts and practical communication were vital to ensuring that the projects were adapted to local circumstances.

Through her work, María José and her team have reached over 5,000 people in India, and their success is mainly due to collaboration and planning.

Although she had yet to meet Luis Valls in person, she later discovered that he was the benefactor behind the scholarship that allowed her to study in the United States. This opportunity gave her the necessary tools to continue her mission to help others, and she couldn’t be more grateful to him.

María José Baños’ story demonstrates how humanity, coordination, and support can transform realities. Her work not only provides a testament to the impact of good collaboration but also the ability to improve the lives of those who need it most.
