Fomento de Fundaciones

In Africa, education is a luxury that many cannot afford. More than 70% of the population is illiterate, and the lack of books and educational materials hinders the area’s social and economic progress.

Fomento de Fundaciones received requests for help from various institutions in Cameroon, Congo, and Ivory Coast. In January 2023, we launched the Library Endowment Program for schools and cultural centers in Africa in an attempt to make a significant impact. This program is designed to fill these learning spaces with books, offering exclusive and hard-to-access texts carefully selected for educators, parents, and students.

We firmly believe in the power of books to change lives. Instead of donating money, we directly acquire the books. We purchase both locally and in Spain, ensuring the suitability of each book according to the final recipient or requesting entity in order to make a real impact on the communities we serve.

Reading opens doors to new opportunities. It allows people to develop critical thinking, which is crucial for their academic success and future professional growth.

The books we select follow specific criteria:

– Books on teaching and family. These books are intended for libraries in educational centers and are directed at parents and teachers.

– Academic books. These books are intended for libraries in educational and youth training centers and suit students of various ages.

– Books on Ethics and morality . For educational, youth training, and cultural centers.

– Books on general culture: To enrich the general knowledge of communities.

When educational centers, youth associations, and training centers have requested our help, we adapt the program to these institutions’ needs, providing specific books for their diverse audiences and educational objectives.

The actual beneficiaries of this program are children, young students, parents, and teachers. This initiative has enriched numerous libraries, such as the Azobe Library in Cameroon, Bozindo in Congo, and Makore in Ivory Coast. With the arrival of these books, we have seen a significant improvement in access to education and culture in these regions.

Every book we deliver allows each child and young person to discover a world of possibilities. At Fomento de Fundaciones, we are proud to contribute to Africa’s educational growth, creating a fairer and more prosperous society.
